Have your say
Suggestions
Tell us what you would like the Kurdistan Solidarity Forum to do, what would help you or your family, and what the Kurdish community needs. You do not need to give your name.
What this page is for
This page collects ideas and suggestions from members, supporters and anyone in the Kurdish community. You can suggest events, campaigns, support services, classes, cultural activities or changes to how we work, or tell us about a problem that KSF could help with.
Every suggestion is read by members of our Management Committee and used to plan our work and decide our priorities. Suggestions are never published, sold or shared outside KSF.
Because we do not ask who you are, we cannot reply to a suggestion. If you would like an answer, email us at [email protected] instead.
This page is not for complaints about how we have handled your personal information, or for reporting an emergency. For data protection matters, see our Privacy Policy. In an emergency, call 999.
How your suggestion is handled
- We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number. Please do not include your name, or names or details that could identify you or anyone else.
- Your suggestion is sent to [email protected] and read only by members of the Management Committee. They see the suggestion, the topic you chose and a reference number, but not who sent it.
- We keep suggestions for up to 2 years so we can plan and look back at what people asked for, then delete them.
Protection against abuse
To protect the people who read suggestions and to stop misuse, our website keeps a small, separate record about each suggestion. It contains only:
- the IP address the suggestion was sent from (the number your internet connection uses online);
- the date and time it was sent;
- the type of browser and device used (for example, “Chrome on an Android phone”);
- the country your connection appears to be in.
We do not collect your name, contacts, precise location or anything else from your device, and we do not use tracking cookies. An IP address on its own does not tell us who you are: only your internet provider could link it to a person, and they normally do so only for the police or under a court order.
When that record can be opened
- The record is encrypted and stored apart from your suggestion. The people who read suggestions cannot see it.
- It is opened only if a suggestion contains abuse: threats of violence, harassment or intimidation of a person, hate speech or discriminatory abuse, sexual content, sharing someone's private information, or content that is otherwise illegal. Criticism, complaints and strong opinions are not abuse.
- To open it, a committee member must sign in and record the reason, and every opening is logged.
- We may share it with the police or another authority only when the law requires or allows it, for example to prevent a crime or to protect someone's safety.
- The record is deleted automatically after 30 days. If it is needed for an abuse investigation, it is kept only until that matter is closed.
We do this under our legitimate interests in preventing abuse and keeping people safe (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), using the least information that makes it possible. You have the rights set out in our Privacy Policy, including the right to object.
